Manuela, today’s SuperWoman
The resourcefulness of the woman, the beauty of the place, the warm reminder of a person that’s no longer around you… this place, Agriturismo di Vezio, positioned on a hill that dominates the lake of Como while hiding behind the green hillsides on top of the town of Varenna, holds the history of a family in search of peace and tranquility for an harmonious elegant life together.
Donato was the fourth of eleven sons and daughters who, with some luck, was able to put together all that would allow him and his family to live comfortably during the Second World War: water, grain, vegetables and fruits, animals … even the proper surroundings to resist the bombs from the sky.
Manuela was a little girl who loved to spend her time, side by side her grandfather and observe him, following him in all details. From this affectionate relation and admiration a great passion was born.
When she inherited the property from her father, Manuela worked hard to transform the place in a classy agriturismo, asking well known architects to help, like Porcinai, a Gio Ponti scholar.
And so, this is how the Castello di Vezio Agriturismo becomes a corner of paradise, that Manuela crafts and builds carefully day by day, to be ready to open the doors and greet her guests. Swimming pools (3) and small guest houses (24) are today a refuge for city stressed people who are looking for some peace and harmony.
