MATILDE Boutique Hotel – YOU CAN MAKE IT… if you keep trying!

Milan

The story of Giuseppe from Ribera

For guest travelers staying at the Matilde Hotel, a just opened boutique hotel, the heart of Milan is literally outside their door!
The Duomo cathedral, the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, the Scala opera theatre, San Satiro and other renowned artistic churches: a dreaming map that puts you in the knowledge with the city that’s hosting you without any doubts!
Going back with the time, precisely back to the 70’s, Milano was far away and unknown to Giuseppe, a young land worker in Ribera, a town near Agrigento, where the soil and the air taste of citrus fruits.
A chance encounter with a young girl from the Northern part of Italy, Rosita, following three years of courting her from his distant Ribera (no cellular at that time) will change his life forever: and so, Giuseppe throws his stuff in a bag and without thinking twice leaves Ribera for Milano. This was in 1975.
Giuseppe starts his new life with a job in a bar at the outskirts of Milan, attends evening classes and tries to get acquainted with his new surroundings. He wants to show Rosita’s family that he will be capable to take care of their daughter, eliminating the family resistance and stereotypes. And when Sebastian is born and growing, Giuseppe gets more daring and achieves his first successes as a young entrepreneur. He makes headways by opening new bar and coffee spaces, always bigger and in downtown locations, till he gets the chance to take over the SAVINI restaurant, in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, meeting point of the Milanesi business men.
It is following Giuseppe’s path that in the 2020 the Matilde Boutique Hotel was inaugurated. With interiors London style, excellent service, and most of all its location, only a few steps away from the cultural, creative and financial heart of Milan. Undecided what to do when waking up and standing at the window facing piazza Duomo? Leave your room, walk around the area, and you will reach great restaurants, fashionable stores, furniture and interior designer spaces, art galleries, museums  and all that Milan is known and famous for.
